Eleventh Annual FEMA Emergency Management Higher Education Conference
(2008-03-17 16:23:00.0)
Note 1: Yesterday we sent over to the web-section a draft agenda for the June 2-5, 2008 EM HiEd Conference - for upload to the website - conference "box" near the top-center of the website - or directly at:: http://training.fema.gov/emiweb/edu/educonference08.asp

We have previously provided a "Conference Announcement," Conference Application," and "Conference Topics" sheet (now overtaken over by events with the development of the draft agenda). None of these items have been uploaded to the EM HiEd Program website yet, but we trust that this will happen soon.

All the application packets which we send to the designated points of contact for all the Emergency Management College Programs on "The College List" on the EM HiEd Website: http://training.fema.gov/EMIWeb/edu/collegelist/ -- have been mailed and should have arrived by this time.

For those who have not received an application packet who are interested in attending this "By Invitation" conference, please first wait until the information noted above has gone up onto the website so that it can be reviewed to make sure this event seems to be "up one's alley." Then, contact preferably by email (very preferably) Barbara Johnson - Barbara.l.johnson@dhs.gov -- or Wayne Blanchard - wayne.blanchard@dhs.gov - and let us know of your interest. We will need to know organizational affiliation and brief note on why one wants to receive an invitation. Since the application will soon be up on the EM HiEd Website one can just wait until then, download the form and either fax it or mail it to the Admissions Office. Unless one's name is on the "Invite List" which the EM HiEd Program maintains, though, the application will not be accepted and the procedure established is that contact information concerning the applicant will be forwarded to one of us with EM HiEd to make contact and based on information received make a determination on whether to accept or not. The Goals and Objectives document in the conference "box" noted above describes our first priority audiences. Exceptions are made, though we do look to screen out vendors, at the request of previous conference participants.
The NETC Admissions Office has indicated that no application will be accepted unless it arrives directly in the Admissions Office - so please do not send an application form to Wayne Blanchard or Barbara Johnson.
