• Cyclone Larry was a category 5 storm with 300 km/hr (180 mi/hr) winds when it made landfall on the coast of northeast Australia just before dawn on Monday, March 20th.

• During its short life, Larry devastated Innisfail, a farming town, and Caims, a resort town, of North Queensland.

• Larry was downgraded to a tropical storm on Tuesday.
