Midwestern States Threatened with Winter Flooding as Snow and Ice Melt Early

• After enduring days of cold Arctic air and freezing rain, the Midwestern USA was threatened Saturday, December 27th , with rain, fog and rapidly rising temperatures that could cause flash flooding.

• Roadways lacquered with ice are thawing.

• Mountains of melting snow and falling rain are creating hazardous pools of water.
