Winter Storm Strikes California and Western States

• Immediately, 1 ? million were left without power in California.

• The huge storm also cut power to residents of Washington and Oregon.

• A Levee broke in Fernley, Nevada, flooding 400 home with ice water

• Flights were canceled.

• Thousands were evacuated.

• Huge traffic jams were common.

• Flash flood warnings were in effect for much of Southern California on Saturday, January 5.

• Thousands of residents in Southern California were also ordered to evacuate in anticipation of mudslides.

• Avalanche warning were posted in the Central Nevada Mountains, which received up to 11 feet of snow.
